National Restaurant Association

The National Restaurant Association was founded in 1919. At the time, this association was the leading business association for the restaurant industry. The National Restaurant Association’s mission was to represent, educate and promote a rapidly growing industry that is comprised of nine hundred thousand restaurant and foodservice outlets that employed twelve point two million people.

The sixty thousand members of the National Restaurant Association represented more than three hundred thousand restaurant establishments. Their membership base consists of many different sections of the industry. The members of the actual restaurant represent table service and quick service restaurant operators, chains, franchises, and independents.

The allied members consist of suppliers, distributors and consultants. The student and faculty memberships are for those in the education. The international allows those companies outside the U.S to enjoy the benefits of the association. The Non profit organization gain access to information to better their organization. The National Restaurant Association is also a member of the International Hotel and Restaurant Association. The International Hotel and Restaurant Association is a network of national associations, international chains, hotel operators, restaurateurs, and supply companies. This network is in more than 150 countries, and represents over 750,000 establishments.

The mission of the International Hotel and Restaurant Association is to promote and to protect the hospitality industry of certain updates. The Association now comprises of 300,000 hotels and 8 million restaurants worldwide. Currently, the National Restaurant Association employs 60 million people, and contributes approximately $950 billion annually to the global economy.

The National Restaurant Association shows great leadership in success. They have been able to accomplish great deeds through out their history. With the accompaniment of The National Restaurant Association Foundation, and the International Hotel and Restaurant Association, the Restaurant Association represents and educates many people in the industry about the business and its trade.
